Jacques Schraven (65) was appointed a non-executive director and Deputy Chairman of Corus in December 2004. Additionally, in 2005 he was appointed a member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Corus Nederland BV. Until June 2005 he was President of the Confederation of the Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW).

He joined Shell in 1968 and in 1997 was appointed Chairman of the Board of Shell Nederland BV. He is a member of the Supervisory Boards of NV NUON, Oranje Nassau Groep BV and Fortis OBAM NV. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Erasmus Rotterdam Medical Centre and of the Netherlands Normalisation Institute (NEN).
